Charity Work
Always keen to inspire, motivate and help others, Stuart undertakes a number of heavily discounted or unpaid engagements each year for a variety of charitable or good causes. In addition Stuart is proud to actively support the following three charities:
Patron, Treloar Trust (Reg. Charity No.: 1092857) visit website: www.treloar.org.uk
The Treloar Trust provides education, care, therapy, medical support and independence training to young people with physical disabilities from all over the UK and overseas. Our aim is to prepare these young people for adult life, giving them the confidence and skills to achieve their full potential.
Patron, The Rainbow Centre (Reg. Charity No.: 1096603) visit website: www.rainbowcentre.org
The Rainbow Centre helps children with motor impairment learn to overcome their difficulties using a system of learning called Conductive Education. Motor impairment means difficulty with movements controlled by the central nervous system and the most common cause of this is cerebral palsy.
Cerebral palsy is a condition caused through lack of oxygen to the brain during pregnancy, during the delivery, or after the birth. One in four hundred babies is affected and the condition is not curable, but the difficulties experienced can be overcome in many cases.
Patron, CP Sport (Reg. Charity No.: 1088600) visit website: www.cpsport.org
CP Sport is the sports organisation for people with cerebral palsy, providing sporting opportunities to individuals of all ages and at all levels from the recreational right through to paralympic competition.
It is also an advisory agency for disability sport issues and is recognised and respected within the international arena.
It was a founder member of the British Paralympic Association and is also a member of CP ISRA, the international sports organisation for people with cerebral palsy, which in turn was a founder member of the International Paralympic Committee.
About Stuart

Stuart was born in Stornoway, in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland, in May 1966.
As a child, it was soon apparent that he had difficulties with his legs - cerebral palsy had left him spastic in his lower limbs.
But what he has lacked in strength in his legs he has made up for in willpower to succeed.
